Ye Yong Run is Executive Director of the Hong Kong Oriental Academy of Painting and Calligraphy and a member of the Hong Kong Calligraphers Association. With more than six decades of artistic practice, he is especially known for his ink paintings of shrimp. His wider practice encompasses bamboo, flowers and birds, landscapes, figures and pandas. Through teaching and public engagement, he seeks to bring Chinese calligraphy and painting into contemporary life, making art a source of cultural connection and everyday enjoyment.
